Woodbridge Riverside Trust present a family fun day at Whisstocks Place

FRIDAY 3rd JUNE . . . Who’s got plans for the Jubilee Long Weekend? We have!!!!

Why not join us down by the river for some fun and games. Not only do we have Story telling sessions in the square but also games and craft activities for all the family. Whilst you’re there why not pop into the Longshed to see how Woodbridge’s much loved Long Ship project is progressing and check out the Art and Craft Exhibition in the John Gibbins Gallery.

Story telling sessions will be held at 11am, 1pm and 3pm in Whisstocks Place and we are thrilled to have Jax Burgoyne, the author and illustrator of The Mother in the Moon joining us to read from this children’s book commissioned by the Woodbridge Riverside Trust. The story is inspired by Sae Wylfing, our half-size replica of The Sutton Hoo Anglo Saxon Burial Ship.

Half of the book is facts about maritime history, Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge, the other half is the story of Sae Wylfing, or ‘Baby Ship’, who goes to the past in search of her mother – to try to help the people who are building her now, in 2022.

As she travels back in time Baby Ship has many adventures meeting Admiral Lord Nelson, Sir Frances Drake and Queen Elizabeth I.

We hope you can make us part of your Jubilee festivities and join us in celebrating the rich history of the Woodbridge Riverside.
