Summer holiday storytelling in the Longshed July and August
Stories of rivers, seas and voyages for families in the Longshed over the school holidays.
Justine de Mierre will run 6 workshops on Tuesday afternoons in July and August bringing local legends and international tales to life. Audiences can expect stories including a wild man from Orford, river dragons from China and piratical skulduggery from Italy. She will also perform some “extreme storytelling” where she improvises a brand new story on the the spot from audience suggestions.
23 and 30 July, 6, 13, 20 and 27 August
Playwright and screenwriter Peppy Barlow and Rosie Walker, Live Interpretation Officer at Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse will run four workshops at the end of August using old tales and ideas from the audience to craft a new odyssey rooted in the banks, tides and landmarks of the River Deben. 23, 25, 30 August and 1 September
The ten sessions, which are being sponsored by Suffolk Cottage Holidays and the Arts Society Woodbridge will be held in the John Gibbins Gallery in the Longshed for audiences of no more than 40 people.
