Description
A History of Whisstock’s Boatyard’ by Sue Whisstock, tells the story, in pictures of how Claude Whisstock began the family boatyard in 1926 on what is now Whisstock’s Place, Woodbridge.
From 1926-1990 Whisstock’s built over 700 wooden yachts which were to become well known all over the world and are still sailed and enjoyed by so many today.
Woodbridge’s Maritime Heritage lives on now, in the Woodbridge Riverside Trust’s Longshed, built on the same site, carrying on the tradition where so many talented craftsmen produced such fine boats for over 64 years.
