Suffolk weekend events at the Longshed Friday – Sunday

Friday 21st(Suffolk Day) and Saturday 22nd 

Wooden Roots African drum band plus other music

Sea shanties and folk songs.

Woodbridge Creative arts stalls

Our Anglo-Saxon re-enactors showing the crafts and weapons of the time

Story telling for the young and not so young.

The Tide Mill stall will be on site and the Woodbridge Museum will be open

Plus a musical surprise

Sae Wylfing will be on the Deben. Dependant on conditions and the tide trips may be available.

When you get hungry The Keo Street Burger van will be on site.

Sunday 23 June from 10.00am

The Sutton Hoo Ship’s company is beginning preliminary work in preparation for the Official Launch of their Replica Ship Construction Project later in the year

Activities will include:

Demonstrations of side axing of the first oak logs that will be used in making a full-size section of the Ship with Damian Goodburn

Making Trenalls (wooden rivets) from willow

Forging iron rivets

Making wooden clamps for holding the ships planks.

Spinning wool and weaving cloth for caulking

from 3.00pm Woodbridge Regatta day.

The Woodbridge Excelsior band; Woodbridge’s own musicians will be playing for your entertainment from 3.00 till 5.00 pm.

Our Re-enactors will be on site.

Sae Wylfing will be out on the river as will the newly built St Ayles skiff.
