Welcome to Waterfront Woodbridge, a maritime heritage initiative at the heart of our community

Woodbridge Riverside Trust (WRT), a nonprofit community organisation, welcomes you to Waterfront Woodbridge, our unique maritime heritage initiative, set to breathe new life into the heart of the Woodbridge waterfront.

The once derelict site of the old Whisstocks Boatyard has been undergoing a transformation and is approaching completion.  In early 2018 we will be fitting out the Longshed, a purpose built community resource comprising a boatbuilding workshop and mezzanine gallery.   The Longshed will be home to a range of creative projects that people can take part in, or simply watch progress.  We want to secure real long term benefits through opportunities to find out about our outstanding maritime heritage and riverside environment, through learning, training, developing skills and, most of all, enjoyment.

Things are happening on the waterfront… Find out about us. Explore what we offer.  Get involved and help celebrate our maritime heritage and shape our waterfront future. View the video above for an introductory overview of this fantastic, new community resource.

Help launch The Longshed - donate now!

Woodbridge Riverside Trust will be taking on The Longshed, leased from Woodbridge Town Council, from Autumn 2017.  The Longshed will be handed over as a “shell” building.  The Trust needs to raise around £70,000 through donations, sponsorship and grants for fitting out.  The first tasks will include fitting lighting, power points, stairs for public access, security and safety equipment.

This will be Your Community Resource, so … Please donate what you can here or get in touch with us to find out about other ways you can support the fit out project – 100% of your donation will go to The Longshed.
